Save YourNatural Smile

Relieve the Pain, Save the Tooth

Living with a deep, throbbing toothache that just will not let up? When decay or injury reaches the nerve inside a tooth, the infection that follows causes real pain and will not clear on its own. A root canal removes that infection, ends the ache, and keeps your natural tooth in place, which is almost always better than pulling it. With today's techniques, the visit feels a lot like having a routine filling.

What is Root Canal

What Is Root Canal?

A root canal is a treatment that saves a tooth with an infected or inflamed inner pulp, the soft tissue that holds the nerves and blood vessels. By removing the damaged pulp, cleaning the inside of the tooth, and sealing it, we stop the infection and relieve your pain. Despite its reputation, a modern root canal is much like getting a routine filling, and it is designed to take you out of pain, not cause it. At Next Smile+Implant, we use gentle techniques and comfortable sedation options to make the whole process as easy as possible.

The benefits of Root Canal

Who Is a Candidate for Root Canal?

  • Severe Pain — A persistent, throbbing toothache, especially when you bite or chew, is a common sign that the inner tooth may be infected and needs attention.

  • Lingering Sensitivity — Sharp or lingering sensitivity to hot or cold that stays well after the source is gone can point to damaged pulp inside the tooth.

  • Swollen Gums — Swelling, tenderness, or a small bump on the gums near a tooth can signal an infection that a root canal is designed to clear up.

  • Darkening Tooth — A tooth that has darkened or discolored on its own can mean the pulp inside is damaged or dying and may need treatment soon.

The Root Canal Process

A modern root canal is designed to relieve pain, not cause it. Here is what to expect.

Schedule a Consultation
Step One

Warm Welcome

A friendly team member greets you by name and helps you settle in, with time to ask questions before we begin.

Step Two

Gentle Numbing

The tooth and surrounding area are thoroughly numbed, with sedation available, so you stay relaxed and comfortable throughout.

Step Three

Pulp Removal

Dr. Saeed Yazdianpour or Dr. Kiana Rezaei makes a small opening and gently removes the infected pulp from inside the tooth and its canals.

Step Four

Clean & Seal

The canals are carefully cleaned, disinfected, and shaped, then filled and sealed to keep bacteria from returning.

Step Five

Final Restoration

We finish with a filling and usually a crown to protect and strengthen the tooth, restoring its full, natural function.

The Benefits of Root Canal

Pain Relief

A root canal removes the infected, inflamed tissue that is causing your toothache, bringing fast, lasting relief from the pain you have been living with.

Saved Tooth

Treatment lets you keep your natural tooth instead of having it pulled, preserving your bite, your smile, and the long-term health of your jaw.

Stops Infection

By clearing out and sealing the tooth, a root canal halts the infection before it has a chance to spread to nearby teeth or into the bone.

Lasting Results

Once it is restored with a filling or a crown, a treated tooth can function normally and last for many years, often a lifetime, with good care.

I have to say first off, I don't like going to the dentist. It always seems to hurt so much. But coming here to Next Smile changed my outlook on dental work. The staff here is so nice, and always have a smile when they greet you. And Dr. Saeed — never do you see him without a smile. He does such great work and makes coming to see him very pleasant. If you're looking to choose which dentist to go to, look no further, he's the right choice. Made me have a smile and feel good about myself again.

This dentist was like no other — a comfortable setting, great staff that had a calming effect, because like most of us I fear having dental work done. I highly recommend Next Smile Implant.

I spent decades of my life with a severe dental/dentist phobia. Before meeting Dr. Saeed Yazdianpour at NEXT, it had easily been nearly 19 years since my last dental visit. After visits to other local dentists that either didn't listen to my concerns, or couldn't do the mountain of work I'd need done, I stumbled upon NEXT SMILE + IMPLANTS, and I could NOT be happier with the results. Dr. Saeed Yazdianpour and his staff listened, and understood my fears. Ten days ago, I spent the day in their Thousand Oaks office, and left with a smile I've not seen since my twenties. This was truly a life-changing event for me.

I can't say enough great things about Dr Saeed and the care he provides. From the moment you walk in, you can tell he truly cares about his patients and takes pride in his work. What really stands out is how clearly he explains everything—he takes the time to walk you through your treatment options, answers all your questions, and makes sure you feel comfortable and informed every step of the way. He doesn't just treat the immediate issue, but looks at your overall dental health and long-term outcomes. It's rare to find someone who combines this level of professionalism, knowledge, and genuine care.

The office staff, receptionist, tech, and Michelle were very personable and helpful. The office is brand new, beautifully furnished, modern, and very comfortable. I was provided a new-patient courtesy no-cost visit along with a 360° X-ray. Dr. Saeed Yazdianpour provided me a meticulous review of my dental problem and a very thoughtful prognosis. I'm going to come back and make this office my new dentist.
