The Soothing Way to Protect YourDental Health and Well-Being
Does the thought of a dental appointment put you on edge? Sedation dentistry uses safe, carefully controlled medication to keep you calm and comfortable, from easing everyday nerves to getting through a longer procedure. Options range from light laughing gas to deeper IV sedation, matched to how you feel and what your treatment involves. The goal is simple: real dental care, without the stress.
Sedation dentistry uses safe, controlled medication to help you stay calm and comfortable during treatment. It can ease anxiety, quiet a sensitive gag reflex, and make longer or more involved procedures feel quick and easy. Whether you dread the dentist or simply want a more relaxed visit, sedation can help. At Next Smile+Implant, we match your sedation to your needs so you feel at ease from start to finish.
Dental Anxiety — If fear or nervousness has kept you away from the dentist, sedation can help you get the care you need calmly and comfortably.
Sensitive Gag — A strong gag reflex can make treatment difficult, and sedation helps you stay relaxed and still so your visit goes smoothly.
Long Procedures — Sedation makes lengthy or complex treatment feel quick and easy, and it often lets us accomplish more in fewer visits.
Low Tolerance — If you have trouble getting numb or sitting through dental work, sedation can make the whole experience far more manageable.
Every step is planned around your comfort and safety. Here is what to expect.
Schedule a ConsultationWe talk through your health history, anxiety levels, and goals to recommend the sedation option that fits you best.
Dr. Saeed Yazdianpour or Dr. Kiana Rezaei explains your sedation choice, what to expect, and any simple steps to prepare.
On the day of treatment, your sedation is administered and you are monitored closely so you stay safe, calm, and relaxed.
Fully at ease, you have your care completed gently and efficiently, often with more finished in a single visit.
Your team reviews aftercare with you, and depending on the sedation type, you may need a ride home afterward.
Find Your Comfort Level
Oral conscious sedation involves taking a prescribed medication before your appointment, allowing you to stay awake but deeply relaxed. It is a safe, effective way to reduce anxiety and discomfort, and our team monitors you throughout treatment to ensure your comfort and safety.
Commonly known as laughing gas, this safe and effective method involves inhaling a mix of nitrous oxide and oxygen through a small mask, inducing a sense of calm. The effects wear off quickly, so you can return to your daily activities shortly after your appointment.
For patients who need a deeper level of relaxation, sedative medication is administered directly into the bloodstream for rapid, effective sedation. You remain conscious but deeply relaxed, with little to no memory of the procedure, while we monitor your vital signs throughout.
For complex procedures or patients who prefer to sleep through treatment entirely, general anesthesia keeps you fully unconscious and completely comfortable. It is administered and monitored with the highest safety standards, so you wake up with your treatment finished and no memory of the visit.
Sedation calms nervousness and fear, helping you feel relaxed and at ease throughout your appointment instead of tense and on edge.
The right medication keeps you comfortable, so even longer or more involved treatments feel easy, smooth, and free of stress.
Sedation can make it possible to combine several treatments into one visit, saving you time, trips, and repeated numbing.
When you are relaxed and still, your dentist can work more precisely and efficiently, helping you reach a healthy smile sooner.
I spent decades of my life with a severe dental/dentist phobia. Before meeting Dr. Saeed Yazdianpour at NEXT, it had easily been nearly 19 years since my last dental visit. After visits to other local dentists that either didn't listen to my concerns, or couldn't do the mountain of work I'd need done, I stumbled upon NEXT SMILE + IMPLANTS, and I could NOT be happier with the results. Dr. Saeed Yazdianpour and his staff listened, and understood my fears. Ten days ago, I spent the day in their Thousand Oaks office, and left with a smile I've not seen since my twenties. This was truly a life-changing event for me.
Dr. Saeed and his office are fantastic! His work on my mouth is better than any of the previous specialists I've seen over the decades. Everything is handled at his office — from advanced imaging to custom implants and devices. My dentist and cosmetic dentist in Northern California recommended Dr. Saeed to me, despite the distance. The initial surgery went well and I woke with minimal pain and somehow looked already so much better after waking from anesthesia. My mouth is one of the most complicated my specialists treat, and they were unanimous about Dr. Saeed. He's highly skilled and answers all of my questions. They treat you like family when you're in their care.
Thank you Dr. Saeed for the excellent care you provided from start to finish with my implants. Your professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine concern made the entire process smooth and reassuring. Not to mention the assistance your wife extended with handling and guiding me through my insurance claims, which I truly appreciated. I am very happy with the results and grateful for the outstanding service you and your team provided. I highly recommend Dr. Saeed to those who are afraid to do any dental work!
I have to say first off, I don't like going to the dentist. It always seems to hurt so much. But coming here to Next Smile changed my outlook on dental work. The staff here is so nice, and always have a smile when they greet you. And Dr. Saeed — never do you see him without a smile. He does such great work and makes coming to see him very pleasant. If you're looking to choose which dentist to go to, look no further, he's the right choice. Made me have a smile and feel good about myself again.
Wow! I had several teeth removed today at age 62, and I've never had a better experience! Dr. Saeed checked on me constantly making sure I was comfortable, but I felt nothing! He is extremely gentle! He had my teeth removed, bone grafts done, and sutured so fast that I didn't believe him when he said he was all finished! Three days later, I have not felt a single discomfort and am already beginning to eat solid foods. I highly recommend Dr. Saeed and Next Smile Implant to anyone that is afraid of the dentist chair! And I'd like to extend a special thank you to Michelle, who handles the financing and is extremely knowledgeable! My dentist for life!
This dentist was like no other — a comfortable setting, great staff that had a calming effect, because like most of us I fear having dental work done. I highly recommend Next Smile Implant.
I've had a grayish tint to my teeth for as long as I can remember, and I've tried so many whitening treatments over the years with little to no success. I finally decided to visit Next Smile + Implant in Thousand Oaks and I'm so glad I did. Dr. Saeed took the time to explain that my type of staining needed a deeper whitening approach, not just a standard whitening treatment. He recommended custom take-home whitening trays followed by an in-office whitening session. After finishing both, I honestly couldn't believe the difference. This is the first whitening treatment that's actually worked for me! The office is beautiful and has such a calm, relaxing vibe. They use state-of-the-art technology, and everything was completely digital, which made the whole experience feel modern, comfortable, and easy. If you're looking for a new dentist in Thousand Oaks, I highly recommend Next Smile + Implant.
My mom visited Next Smile & Implant Center for dental implants after getting six different estimates from other dental offices. After comparing pricing, treatment plans, and overall experience, she chose Next Smile & Implant Center, and it was absolutely the right decision. She is getting five dental implants, and from the very beginning, the entire process has been outstanding. The doctor is incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely cares about his patients. He takes the time to explain every step of the procedure, answers every question thoroughly, and never makes her feel rushed. One of the biggest reasons we chose this office was their honesty and transparency. The pricing was very competitive, and there were no surprise charges or add-ons beyond the original estimate.
